I took the plunge and purchased Frontier’s Go Wild All You Can Fly pass yesterday. Given the spontaneous traveler that I am, it made natural sense. The pass was on sale for $297, allowing me to fly from now until the end of 2027 for just the cost of taxes and fees per flight, which at the lowest is about $15.37.

Here’s the tricky part: you can only get the best rates by booking the day before travel, or if you’re international, up to 10 days before. The price is about $16 for domestic day-of flights and around $80 for international, which is still a good deal but far from free. That’s $80 each way, so it’s going to be $160.
I bought one $299 pass, which just gets you on a flight with a basic seat. It doesn’t include a checked bag or a carry-on. But I had gotten an offer a few days prior to pay a one-time fee of $69 to upgrade to gold status on Frontier. This upgrade gives me a free checked bag, preferred seating, and a better boarding position, among other perks. I knew that the cost would be covered with just one ticket where I had a carry-on bag. On top of that, when I went to sign up, I was offered their credit card, and I finally bit the bullet and did it.
As a full-time writer, I work remotely no matter where I am, and travel is one of my biggest inspirations. That’s why I’m on my way to the airport now on a flight that I booked four hours ago. I’m headed to Vegas, set to arrive at the airport at 8:21 p.m., with boarding opening at 8:44. Good thing I’m traveling light with just a carry-on and TSA pre-check. I never know where I’m going to pop up next, and I love surprising myself.
I paid $15.37 for my flight to Vegas, just a one-way ticket. I can’t book the return yet without it costing around $75. I used Priceline’s Express Deals for my hotel stay, which saves me from getting stuck in review trenches. I decided on a four-star hotel on Fremont in old Las Vegas, a place I’m no stranger to. It’s been about 10 years since I’ve been to Vegas, and fun fact, I got married there at the Treasure Island Hotel. No, I didn’t elope or get married by Elvis, and I don’t regret it at all.
I’m excited to return to downtown Vegas. After booking, I made sure both hotels and flights were ready. I’m set to drop off my car and take a shuttle, aiming to get there 24 minutes before the gate opens. If I’m lucky, I’ll get this from dictation to post before I take off. Challenge accepted.
Updated: It’s 4 minutes after my plane is supposed to start boarding and I’m hitting send…
