✨ Meet Kitty: Bri’s Mother-in-Law ✨
Kitty Brigg is a woman of contradictions—graceful yet intrusive; charming yet overbearing. Her confidence is undeniable and her presence magnetic, but beneath the stylish exterior lies an incessant need to manage, control, and impose her own brand of order—regardless of whether it’s wanted.
As a gymnastics and piano coach, Kitty thrives in roles where she can mold and refine talent, but this extends beyond her students to everyone in her orbit. She takes it upon herself to “improve” the world around her, whether it’s reorganizing a kitchen drawer in the middle of dinner prep or adjusting the flavor of a meticulously crafted meal with an uninvited dash of saffron. Kitty’s interventions, while often framed as generosity, rarely consider the desires of others, leaving those around her—particularly her daughter-in-law Bri—caught between forced gratitude and simmering frustration.
Her relationship with her son, Seth, is layered with an almost unsettling dynamic of adoration and favoritism. While Seth himself remains indifferent, Kitty heaps effusive praise upon him, showcasing her pride in ways that border on performative. In contrast, she barely acknowledges Bri’s presence, speaking about her rather than to her and offering backhanded compliments that reveal her underlying dismissiveness.
Kitty Briggs is not a villain, but she is a force—one whose presence disrupts as often as it dazzles, leaving those around her questioning whether she is a gift—or an elegant imposition.
